¿WHO WE ARE?

El Trasgu de Foncebadón is a Rural Hotel / Restaurant / Store on the Camino de Santiago route.

STORE

El Trasgu de Foncebadón began its activity in May 2013 only with the store for pilgrims. It is located in the center of the village of Foncebadón (León), highest point of the French Way.

El Trasgu de Foncebadón was the first store of its kind that established in the village. Its intention was to cover the needs of the growing number of pilgrims who chose Foncebadón as the end of stage of the Camino.

BAR-RESTAURANT

In our constant will to improve pilgrim’s attention, we extended our services with a bar-restaurant which has a great sandwich menu, as well as 26 varieties of tea and coffees to taste. We also have a pilgim’s daily menu for lunch and dinner, and we can cook almost anything you ask for on request. Of course, all our products are also to take away.

HOTEL

On the top floors we have our hotel. It has four rooms with private bathroom, closet, flat screen TV and heating. Even if we only recieved one star for the time being due to construction reasons, materials quality and services are those of a three stars hotel.

HOSTAL

HOSTAL

El Trasgu de Foncebadón Hotel offers you four rooms with private bathroom in a new building, furnished like the old made of stone authentic village houses. The building is located next to the original almost 200 year old house. We are just on the Camino de Santiago in the village of Foncebadón.

BAR - RESTAURANT

BAR - RESTAURANT

In our bar-restaurant you can have a rest after the ascension to Foncebadón having a cold or warm drink, any of our sandwiches, toasts or even our daily pilgrim's menu (available at all times). You can enjoy it at our tables, in the bar or in the two terraces we have: the main one next to the Calle Real (the main street of Foncebadón) facing Astorga or the rear one, with priviledged views to mount Teleno, the highest peak in our region. If you start the stage in Foncebadón, very early in the morning we offer you any of our breakfasts, possibly the best ones in this area of the Camino de Santiago. Anyway, we will take great pains in giving you the service you deserve once you are here. We will always welcome you in our home.

STORE

STORE

Our store El Trasgu de Foncebadón is the shop by and for the pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago. We offer you almost anything you may need during your stay in Foncebadón and for any other later stages. Food, drinks (cold or warm, with our selection of teas and coffees to drink or to take away), healthcare products, raincoats, souvenirs... All these items can be found in our store, where we will take great pains to give you the service and attention you deserve after the hard ascension to Foncebadón. Some of our visitors defined us as "an oasis in the middle of the Camino".

What do our clients think?

AN EXCELLENT PLACE

I give it my best assessment for the following: For the work carried out by its owners with the personal effort to revive a town with the reconstruction of one of the family houses carried out with exquisite taste. A four-room hotel with a very successful decoration. Beds, mattresses, duvets and the bathroom with great taste. A restaurant with the kitchen open throughout the day at a reasonable price. Attentive service. Variety at breakfast from 6.30 am. And a store for the most essential things. Congratulations for the initiative Highly recommended

HOMEMADE FOOD, VERY GOOD SERVICE

Its quality price is surprising, good treatment from the very correct and polite staff, clean the whole establishment, very good home-made food abundant, one of the few places that after eating you are not thirsty, very good views in the cozy dining room

AMAZING RESTAURANT

We have been doing the Camino de Santiago and we stopped here for dinner and breakfast. The food is varied, with a vegetarian and vegan option. There are also light dishes, something that has been difficult for us to find in previous towns. The majestic waiters, the correct prices and good views. The best place where we have eaten and had breakfast so far. Pf: try the honey bow for € 1

ESSENTIAL STOP ON THE WALK

We came across this hostel almost by chance at the end of a stage on the Camino de Santiago and we couldn't be more satisfied. The rooms designed with great taste and comfort and the treatment of both the owners and the staff was exquisite, making us feel at home. The coffee on that large terrace surrounded by nature has been one of the best experiences of the trip. Fully recommended to disconnect and enjoy
